What is Centre for Studies in Hindu Conservatism?
An auspicious beginning on Maharana Pratap Jayanti
The Centre for Studies in Hindu Conservatism (CSHC) is an informal initiative started by eight Gen Z users of ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) who share a conservative leaning. This initiative is not affiliated with any university or college but aims to create a dialogue and space for conservative thought, which has been marginalized for decades, particularly in India.
Why Hindu Conservatism?
Hindu conservatism is a rich and nuanced tradition that deserves serious academic attention. Unlike Western conservatism, which often revolves around political and economic issues, Hindu conservatism is deeply intertwined with cultural, spiritual, and societal values. It emphasizes the preservation of dharma (righteousness), the importance of family and community, and the maintenance of cultural and religious practices that have stood the test of time.
However, in contemporary academia, these values are frequently overshadowed by ideologies that prioritize radical social change and deconstruction of traditional structures. This often leads to a one-sided understanding of Hindu society and its philosophical foundations. By focusing on Hindu conservatism, CSHC aims to bring a much-needed balance to this discourse.
What will we Post?
We will produce a diverse range of literature that includes:
Opinions on Current Debates: Providing conservative perspectives on contemporary issues, policy discussions, and societal debates.
Book Reviews: Analyzing and reviewing literature relevant to Hindu conservatism, both contemporary and historical.
Historical Topics: Exploring historical events, figures, and movements from a conservative Hindu perspective to offer insights into the past that inform present-day understandings.
Hindu Religion: Delving into religious practices, philosophical doctrines, and the intersection of spirituality and daily life within the Hindu tradition. This will include exploring how traditional religious practices align with or differ from modern conservative values, and examining contemporary religious issues from a conservative Hindu viewpoint.
Although the eight of us share a conservative leaning, each individual will contribute a unique perspective to our writings, ensuring a rich diversity of thought. We are committed to maintaining this diversity without compromise.
As we embark on this exciting journey, we seek the well wishes and blessings of our Hindu brethren. May Shree Hari keep his ‘kripa drushti’ (gracious gaze) upon us.
Jai Shree Ram

Hello Zoomerjeet, I like your tweets. So here's a suggestion: Make a manifesto on how to improve India-economy, repealing quotas, education system , nutrition, internal and external security, nation and identity building, controlling enemies like muslims and northeasterns bhimtas. Army weapons etc
Also make an inforgraphic listing the ways hindus are discriminated constitutionally RTE, gov control of hindu temples, waqf, sharia muslim personal law etc
May be make a hindutva manifesto like 10 commandments of hindutva essentials
I sent this email to upword ashish dhar on how to reform and standardize hinduism to make it a proper religion.
Hi Upword,
Big fan of your work.
Here's a project idea for you: Please publish a book on Hindu philosophy from different schools which includes rules and guidelines for people to follow like a bible. Let's call it Zen Hinduism. Most Hindus know nothing about Hinduism beyond going to temples and wishing for wealth and remedies to their problems. We need a standard handy book like Christians have with bible.
If possible, recompile Hinduism and standardize it. Write about various contradictions in Hinduism and try to solve them to the best of your ability, elaborate about the timeline of yuga cycles. Make a list of all the mortal sins and venial sins. Make a list of stupid stuff in some texts like puranas like how petting cats sends you to hell etc
Some more things to add in these books : Egregious casteism like how shudra bodies are like grave yards etc so we can slowly phase it out
You could also write on possible scientific explanations about why priests have to have tufts on their heads and such.
My dream is to make Hinduism a proper religion standardized into say, 6 books. One on philosophy, one on rituals and prayers, One for morality, sins, rules and guidelines and the rest would be epics like mahabharata and ramayana etc. Get rid of cringe like aghori cannibalism, egregious casteism (caste itself is fine), contradictions, obvious nonsense and anything to do with cow excreta and tribal bullshit. I want hindus to go to temples every weekend to attend mass and listen to scripture like christians do and live a hindu way of life. Ideally hindu priests should wear shirts because they're all fat and sweaty.
I'm sick of babas, BAPS, arya samaj, sadguru and all these grifters. May be write about hindu temple organizations should be run and how to excommunicate heretics
Start a fundraiser, hire the best people you know- academics, theologians, priests etc. Take a year or two. If you get this right, you'll make a place for yourself in history
END OF EMAIL.
You could compile wallpapers and art of Hindu gods because the popular depictions are unaesthetic and androgynous.
Also try to write about buddha avatar means and yugas-kaliyuga timeline because those large numbers dont make sense
Make a list of good books on hindu and indian history too
Sorry for the typos, I'm drunk and typing on a shitty chromebook
